Your mission, if you choose to accept it...

is to meet your neighbors, to the left and right of you. If you know them, go introduce yourself to the person across the street. You know them too? Go to a store or a coffee shop and extend your hand in friendship. Smile at a outsider walking down your street. Meet somebody new. A stranger is just somebody you haven't met yet.

It might sound challenging but it's easy. You aren't asking them on a date nor are you asking for money. You don't want to discuss politics, at least right away. You are not even going to ask for the proverbial cup of sugar. Make it your mission to introduce yourself to someone new.

"Hi, I'm Dee. I wanted to say have an amazing day." It's that simple.

We, every person, all citizens, the electorate, EVERYBODY needs to get to know the members of their community. It's a nice thing. Living next to strangers has become commonplace. We do everything by text or email or Twitter. Communication with others has become a lost art.

Human beings NEED to interact with others. This is a proven fact. We need to be hugged or shake somebody's hand. We need to practice introducing ourselves and smiling at others. We need to belong to something bigger.

Everybody can do this small thing. And it's free!
